Tab View
⌘-Tab switches between apps. Tab View switches between windows, and shows them where they are: screen by screen, laid out as they sit on your desktop.
Use it
Section titled “Use it”- Hold ⌥ Option and press ⇥ Tab. Tab View opens with the window you used before this one picked, so a quick ⌥⇥ switches back, like ⌘-Tab does between apps.
- Keep holding ⌥ and press ⇥ again to move along, ⇧⇥ to go back, or use the arrow keys to move to the nearest window that way, across screens too.
- Let go of ⌥ to switch to the picked window.
Press Esc to close it without switching. You can also click a window, or press ↩ Return, to switch to it.
What it shows
Section titled “What it shows”Each window as a tile with its app’s icon, the app’s name and the window’s title. Minimized windows sit in a row under their screen; picking one brings it back.
Window titles are read only while Tab View is open, to label the tiles. They’re never saved or sent anywhere. See Privacy and permissions.
